Phil Covell has over 30 years of experience generating and stretching funds for enterprises in the energy, environmental, public, and nonprofit sectors.
Phil has worked with partners to build organizations and markets from the ground up, drawing on a combination of technical, business and people skills. Prior to joining ERA, he held positions including Program and Budget Manager, CFO, Executive Director, Managing Director and Senior Advisor of organizations including Soluz, Inc., Triodos, the Peace Corps, and Forest Trends.
Additionally, he has been an officer and/or Board Member of EcoLogic Finance (now Root Capital), Solar Development Foundation, and Enersol Associates, among other organizations.
After completing studies at the School for International Training and the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University, Phil earned his MBA from the University of California, Davis, where he received the Graduate School of Management Medal, the highest award offered to graduate students.
His consulting and expense management experience includes business advisory services for clients in 23 countries, and management of budgets in excess of $100 million. He has led multi-stakeholder negotiations and successfully implemented numerous projects to create new products and improve business processes.
